RAIN
Sweet and glorious RAIN! How I love and appreciate RAIN
nourishing and feeding all plants, all nature. My son Jonathan from California
came to visit for 4 days and there was a fair amount of Rain. That did not
impede on our adventures together. We enjoyed some meals here at the Village,
went shopping, buying a new bed for me and a new pair of Sketcher shoes, all very
exciting.
One of the days we wanted to be out in Nature and so went to
La Chua Trail and it stopped RAINING long enough for us to enjoy a gorgeous
walk on the ‘trail’, a boardwalk. It was staggeringly beautiful, watching the
Egrets, 2 alligators, and other birds singing and foraging for food. The water was higher from the RAIN and
we saw these magnificent water plants floating about on the water. It was
another world! The RAIN started once we got back in the car. Amazing timing!
That happened every time we were out.
I realize more and more how the RAIN is such a gift. It is
cooling, nourishing, refreshing, productive, and relaxing. It serves so many
purposes that are so subtle. Many times I used to say, ‘Oh! It’s RAINING . . .
as though it is going to stop me from doing something outdoors. Well, it does
sometimes but that is where being creative comes in.
We can do at least 3
things when it rains:
We can accept it is indeed RAINING, we can make new plans to
work around the RAIN, we can cancel and brood over ‘spoiled plans’ and complain
the rest of the day. Which sounds best to you? I am finding that there is always a way around our initial
disappointment. Especially when we
remember the marvelous benefits the RAIN provides.
These are a few ways we can skirt around disappointments
that appear in our life unexpectedly. What comes to mind are set backs in any
plans we may have as well as major set backs and hang ups we encounter. It can
be the smallest thing . . . having to wait too long . . . anywhere. Something
that we order or shop for being out of stock, unavailable or the wrong size;
just plain not getting what we want!
Ah! I feel that INCONVENIENCE to us is the key. We can very
quickly turn that around by being GRATEFUL for what we do have and enjoy. RAIN can be a reminder to slow down, stop if
need be and NOTICE what is around us and what we can do to CHANGE our ATTITUDE
about whatever it is.
It’s such a gentle reminder, RAIN . . . a HEALING nectar, if
you will, to APPRECIATE that it is not a force that could put us in danger or
major INCONVENIENCE.
Just think of all the good it does! We could not survive
without it! It is a blessing to us all, humans and nature. Enjoy it!
Gentle RAIN falling
On all of nature
Giving us life and
Nourishment.
BLESSINGS
