A LAKE
RIPPLES

As you know, one of my favorite things to do in this world is to walk around the lake and then sit on my favorite bench and watch the ducks, the fountain and the marvelous RIPPLES that gently flow to the outer edges of the lake. They are constant! I notice I keep thinking at some split second in time, the RIPPLES will be different. Perhaps ever so slightly if there is a breeze, and depending on the light, but very little change.

I struggle with the 2 words AFFECT and EFFECT. I never quite know for sure which to use where. It seems to me that the fountain affects the lake water, making RIPPLES, and that has an effect on me. My point is that when I say or do something, it has an effect on people and situations, and visa versa. Yesterday someone said something to me that was shocking, actually, and it had a RIPPLING effect on me for a couple of hours.

All it takes is some CONSCIOUSNESS and some CONSIDERATION for the moment to know how to send out a RIPPLING effect of positive magnitude. It seems easy but it’s not, always. It just takes sorting through what is APPROPRIATE and what is not. My feeling is that as long as some sort of effort is made to be KIND, at least that makes a difference.

When our personal world or FLORIDA or the WORLD at large experiences strife and pain like it is now, we feel the RIPPLE of actions made profoundly. I always feel helpless and ineffectual until I WAKE UP and realize what I can do to cause a positive RIPPLE.  I can be KIND, FRIENDLY, AWARE, COOPERATIVE, COMPLIMENTARY, GIVING, SHARING AND RECEPTIVE. I can do all these and more out of the spirit of GRATITUDE and LOVING KINDNESS.

I’m even more AWARE of the RIPPLES that gently flow around here and the crashing waves against the rocks at the ocean. Are they both RIPPLES?

Soft RIPPLES slowly
And gently flowing
To kiss the yonder shore.

BLESSINGS
