DISCOVERY
Greetings! It has been a couple of weeks since I have
written because 2 of my children from California came on 2 separate visits, my
son and daughter. It was a glorious time together, filled with good sharing,
outings, good food and fun! It is so heartwarming to share my new home, the
Village with them. They loved it here and were so happy and thankful I love it
too.
One of the highlights was that my daughter got me over to
the gym! Aha! A huge feat!. I went to the gym a couple years ago but after I
fell in my garden bed and cut my leg, I never thought I could go back. Well,
she proved I could do at least one machine and I did it well. Today I went back
and a trainer showed me 2 more machines and I could do them!
This is a very big deal for me because even though I stretch
in bed in the morning and go to exercise class, I felt that was about it
besides walking. I’m committed to a regime every day, doing something, even if I don’t feel like it!
I see how exercising lifts my spirits, my body is feeling stronger and more
capable of extending myself. This is not to say I feel no pain anymore, I do,
but a few mild stretches seem to work out the kinks and I can proceed. This has
done wonders for my confidence and abilities.
It can be way too easy for me to feel uninspired (to move my
body) and find excuses to be sedentary. It takes more effort than most things I do to PERSEVERE to exercise.
As I am
aging, I see the pitfalls of stopping
exercising. I am COMMITTED to taking care of my body, mind and spirit every day
in some way. My feeling is that we are alive at present and we can PERSEVER to
be the best we can be.
When I get in bed at night, I am thankful for the PROGRESS I
have made. It is very slow and deliberate, but it keeps me moving. I always
wanted to deny this TRUTH about the body, rationalizing my way out of
movements, but no more.
When I become excited about something I have DISCOVERED or
done, I like to share it. This DISCOVERY about myself and the body’s abilities
to do more (than I previously experienced before) is a big deal! I want to
encourage people to try one new bit of movement a day and see what it reveals
to you. I love experiencing a sense
of ACCOMPLISHMENT in everything I do! So can you!
It’s never too late to do
Something. . . hands, ankles,neck
BREATHE!
