MORNING GLORY

DELIGHT

I love this word, DELIGHT! It is so fresh, so inviting, no matter what it is; like that first bite of a delicious sorbet or the first sip of a fresh cup of coffee or tea, the first bite of a delicious strawberry! The sensation lingers in your mouth, in your nose, in your memory to remind us of the pleasures in life.

The same with reading or experiencing anything that DELIGHTS us. I had this experience this week when I started a book called, "The Natural World of Winnie the Pooh" by Kathryn Aalto. I had just finished a book about the author of Winnie the Pooh, A.A. Milne. It was a complete DELIGHT and made me interested in re-reading Winnie the Pooh! Well . . . I was captivated from the beginning and spent the next precious moments giggling like a little girl. What an imagination he had and what a joy it must have been to write about all the adventures. Each one is based on his son, Christopher's childhood.

It DE-LIGHTED my whole being reading this and relishing the wonder of the creativity and beauty that poured forth onto the page! It INSPIRED me to expose myself to more DELIGHTS that uplift and entice the SPIRIT! In times like this, it is a good thing to treat ourselves, if you will, to some fantasy or adventure that is unreal.

There are so many DELIGHTS I relish, namely those in NATURE. Here I relish so many aspects of NATURE, whether it be trees, flowers, plants, scenery, vegetables, fruits, animals, anything.  I know that this is so by the FEELING I have inside anytime I'm seeing something in NATURE, or something of beauty and wonder. The FEELINGS are the very best barometer of what I like and what I don't like.

That's one reason I'm so clear about a sense of ORDER and BEAUTY around me, as well as 'out there'. I seem to thrive on thIngs that DELIGHT me. Seems like a logical thing to strive for! To be in a state of DELIGHT doesn't mean to ignore the pain and hardship of other things in our life. It simply means (to me) to cultivate and create DELIGHTFUL experiences in our life, if only a juicy red, sweet strawberry or a good chuckle from a delightful book, movie, or event.

It means being OPEN to doing the unusual! I am DELIGHTED to say that children's books are becoming a new DELIGHT for me to enjoy. I love the illustrations, drawings and pictures equally as DELIGHTFUL as the stories. It's fun to try something new and different and enjoy someone else's creativity and imagination and APPRECIATE someone's endeavors.

Just NOTICE what you are drawn to in the way of something 'DELIGHTFUL'.  It will open up a whole new world in order to thrive in a world of WONDER and BEAUTY! You might even get 'carried away!'

All it takes is a bit of

fairy dust

to DELIGHT

our souls!

BLESSINGS
